A bit about Me..

I’m Sarah Boulet, therapist and founder of Know Me Therapy PLLC.

Philosophy..

I want to help you navigate relationships including the one you have with your partner, your family, your self, your environment, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors, your higher power/God etc. I have been informally studying human behavior and relationships for over 4 decades. I have learned that I love people. I have also learned that humans are beautifully complex, multilayered, influenced and formed by experiences, relationships, and environment. At the core, most of us long to live our lives happily and to have and maintain positive connections with significant others but despite these wishes we find ourselves often struggling. Miscommunication, misunderstanding, deep rooted fears and insecurities, old storylines, and unhelpful thoughts and behaviors can separate us from the things we want the most. I became a therapist because I believe we all deserve a non-judgmental ally, help with honest self-reflection, and support as we try to reach our individual relationship goals.

Training..

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFT-Associate) supervised by Leila Anderson LMFT-S. I have a bachelors of science in dental hygiene including numerous courses in psychology and human development and a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have completed externship level training in emotionally focused couples therapy (EFCT) as well as Gottman level 1 studies, additional training in both of these modalities is ongoing. I have also assisted with couples Hold Me Tight workshops. My approach to therapy is multi-modal and client specific utilizing evidence-based interventions and concepts from various modalities including (click on each to learn more) EFT, Gottman, Narrative, and IFS therapies. I believe in lifelong learning, and I continue to incorporate tools in practice that are proven to help if they fit the clients i.e. the sand tray, art, and the whiteboard.

Who I love to work with and how..

Couples:

Experiencing frustration, hurt, or confusion in our primary relationships significantly affects our health, happiness, and wellbeing. It’s often hard to think, function, or feel like ourselves when this is happening. I view the relationship as the system or client in need of support vs one member of the relationship and avoid blaming or pathologizing when there is trouble. Using evidence-based interventions from EFT and Gottman therapies and more, I work with clients to understand their relationship, themselves, and one another better and to develop practical, accessible, strategies to use when tough moments in the relationship arise. I work with clients who want to improve their relationship, are willing to learn, and to keep an open mind, even if those ideas feel hard to reach right now. I believe positive change is possible and I love working with couples.

Individuals:

Desiring new relationships with ourselves or others, wanting to change existing ones, or wishing we were or felt different in them, can be painful and lonely. Most of us do not receive formal education in how to have and maintain healthy relationships yet we do not feel right unless we do. In therapy, we will use concepts and interventions from several therapy models, based on the client’s goals, including but not limited to EFIT, to help with a healthy sense of self, emotion regulation and expression, IFS to help one look at the various parts of their personality and how they interact as well as how this plays out in relationships, and Narrative therapy to help reframe life and relationship stories. I also incorporate the concepts of acceptance, taking positive action to change what can be changed, self-regulation, mindfulness, and self-care. I believe that as long as humans are living they are growing and that positive change, healthy relationships, and a happier life is possible. I most enjoy working with clients who want change, even if they are feeling discouraged at the moment, and are willing to learn and grow with the help of a non-judgmental ally.

Personal life..

Personally, I was raised by a loving single mother and extended family in New England. I struggled a good bit in adolescence and despite an early interest in helping others, only began to get relationships and some other things right in my late 20s. I believe and hope that as long as I live I will be learning and growing. I’ve been married almost 2 decades to my favorite human, we are raising 3 children who are in or approaching their teen years, each with their own unique personalities and charm. When not working, I love to make art, explore new places, and read or stream something sci-fi, funny, or British.

Session info..

I work with couples and individuals through telehealth and in person in Round Rock Texas at a rate of $100 per 50 min standard session and $150 for 75 min sessions ( more than one person/agreed upon before hand). I do not currently accept insurance but offer a sliding scale upon request. I am able to supply superbills for those who have insurance plans who reimburse. On-site concierge (I come to you) therapy sessions are offered at the discretion of the therapist for an additional fee. Consider a free phone connection as a first step.
